Hailing from New Jersey, Nicholas Bredimus made a career for himself in software, airlines, and hospitality together and to the benefit of these industries. He has worked on projects varying from the creation of computer programs that automate resource and time intensive processes to advancing aircraft safety and even designs for luxury houses. Bredimus has brought astonishing drive to all these fields, too.
Glancing at Nicholas Bredimus' family tree you can easily predict he was sure to achieve greatness. Drawing elements together from a true melting pot, his line can be traced to classical times, with the maternal line primarily German and Scottish. Luxembourg and England were the source for Bredimus' paternal line, though the family came to America in the late 1800s.
That remarkable zeal came to the fore subsequent to their arrival. Nicholas, as well as his two brothers and four sisters, was born to a father who made his living as a design engineer and his spouse, a practicing nurse. He settled for a time in Kansas City, Texas, Arizona and Virginia.
Once his schooling was complete, he found himself in a number of prominent jobs at several of the strongest and most reputable airlines. Trans World Airlines (TWA), Hughes Airwest, Republic Airlines - all three would at one time or another appoint him as a vice president. But the airline industry has felt the need to be grateful all the more for his pioneering work in software and system architecture.
His groundbreaking work on aircraft maintenance management programs, now used throughout the air travel business while first coded for one specific firm, ultimately led to what is even now his most used piece. He programmed several other systems for the hotel and airline industries as well, among them robotic routines to take and record airline reservations, now in use at fifty or more businesses, to say nothing of the first room booking program using Windows used by the hotel industry, first offered to the public at over seven hundred hotels. Still innovating, he developed a networked system to assist in selling tickets - another remarkable masterpiece.
Although computer software was his forte, Mr Bredimus also often worked on non-software fields. With his own business, overseeing IT for American Express, and as the founding president of AMR Travel Services his track record speaks for itself. Is he still active? Decidedly so - his creativity is ready to answer the call no matter his retirement. He's at work now mastering architecture - blending the requirements of esthetics with bona fide concern for our environment.
